NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has been announced for a local couple looking to make their special day truly unforgettable – a chance to elope on the day of the Great American Total Solar Eclipse at the Music City Solar Eclipse Festival & Viewing Party Aug. 21 at Adventure Science Center.
The festival and viewing party are sponsored by Celestron®, Twice Daily®, and WSMV Channel 4.
On the morning of the eclipse, Music City’s Eclipse Wedding Couple will tie the knot in a ceremony in ASC’s new Galactic Gardens with their closest friends or family in attendance. Adventure Science Center will provide the flowers, music, photographer, a catered lunch, and a VIP eclipse-viewing experience at Nashville’s premier science center. The couple will have the opportunity to garner national and international attention as all eyes turn to Nashville during the total solar eclipse.
The “Elope at the Eclipse” contest is now open for entries. Interested couples should submit a video (up to 60 seconds in length) detailing why they should be chosen as the Music City Eclipse Wedding Couple. The top three couples, selected by an internal Adventure Science Center team, will have their videos published on the Adventure Science Center’s Facebook page for people to cast their vote by sharing their favorite couple’s video.
CONTEST DETAILS
Wedding package includes:
• A private ceremony in Galactic Gardens at 8 a.m. for the couple, an officiant and up to four guests*
• Floral arrangements and a musician for the ceremony
• Photographer for the ceremony (including a special pre-elopement photo session in the Center’s Space Chase exhibition gallery)
• A first dance on the festival’s main stage during the headlining act
• A showing of ECLIPSE: The Sun Revealed in the Sudekum Planetarium on Aug. 21
• Access to all the Center’s exhibits and activities during the viewing party

To enter, participants should submit a video (up to 60 seconds long) showing both members of the couple giving their answer to “Why should you be chosen as the Music City Eclipse Wedding Couple?” to marketing@adventuresci.org. Entries are due June 1.
Three finalists will be announced on June 14, and voting will open to the public via Adventure Science Center’s Facebook page. Individuals will be able to cast their vote by publicly sharing their chosen couple’s video on their own Facebook page. The couple with the most shares will be announced as the winner on June 21.
Please note: Couples must be willing to have their ceremony covered by national and local media outlets, must be available for press interviews prior to Aug. 21, and must be willing to have Adventure Science Center promote their elopement. Must be 18 years or older to enter.
*In case of rain, the ceremony will be held inside the Sudekum Planetarium.
