DICKSON, Tenn. – Celebrate the 59th annual Old Timers Day, “education celebration,” May 6 in downtown Dickson.
The festival remains to be one of the few “old time” festivals not only in Tennessee, but throughout the entire Southeast region. A series of musical events, various “old time” games, kids’ corner and the Robert Spicer Memorial Buck dance competition take place throughout the day.
There is a quilt show which includes observing ladies dressed in period dress performing their version of old fashion quilting, living history demonstrators providing a Civil War demonstration with a replica of a Civil War camp.
Other living history demonstrators perform demonstrations in weaving baskets, doing laundry by hand, making candles, brooms, walking sticks and much more.
The parade is filled with floats, horse drawn wagons, and much more.
