Marble Springs State Historic Site to Host John Sevier Days Living History Weekend

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – A War of 1812 special event in celebration of the life and times of John Sevier takes place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Marble Springs State Historic Site.

Not only was Sevier an early hero of Tennessee history and the first governor of the state, but he also served as a War Hawk in Congress and chaired the House Committee on Military Affairs throughout the War of 1812.

This special event will feature interpretive talks, popular music of the era, drills, historic lectures, and more. Food will be provided by SoKno Taco Cantina. Details are subject to change.

Admission for John Sevier Days is $5 per adult (16+), $3 per child (7-15) and children 6-years-old and under receives free admission. Parking is free.

All proceeds benefit the mission of preservation and education of the Marble Springs State Historic Site.
