MORRISTOWN, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Tourist Development Commissioner Kevin Triplett was on hand to help cut the ribbon on Panther Creek State Park’s golf course, Morristown’s latest.
With the addition of the course, Morristown becomes the only city in East Tennessee with four 18-hole, championship-caliber disc golf courses.
The 9,600 yard, par 71 course is one of the most challenging courses in the region.
The course made its debut during the annual Tennessee State Disc Golf Championships held June 1-4. More than 340 disc golfers participated in the tournament, with the top five finishers qualifying for the Professional Disc Golf Association’s United States National Championship. Chris Dickerson of Johnson City, Tennessee was the winner of this year’s tournament.
