Schedule Announced for 23rd Annual RC-MoonPie Festival in Bell Buckle

BELL BUCKLE, Tenn. – Celebrate 100 years of the MoonPie during the RC & MoonPie Festival 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 17 in downtown Bell Buckle.

This year’s festival starts with a timed 10-mile run through the scenic countryside. A full breakfast, complete with RC Colas and MoonPies await all the finishers.

Davis and Dayle take the stage to perform songs and funny antics, along with the Valerie Smith Band who perform music from the Captain Rodney stage.

This year’s King and Queen of the Festival are Mark Lowry and Savannah Maddison. Mark Lowry is a singer, storyteller, humorist, author and songwriter, whose lyric to “Mary Did You Know?” resulted in one of the most loved and modern Christmas songs of this century.

Savannah Maddison has performed the National Anthem for more than 100 sporting events, appeared with Charlie Daniels, Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Kid Rock and Kelly Pickler. Savannah founded the military appreciation organization, “Savannah’s Soldiers” which partners with children and adults in the U.S. to collect letters of encouragement for deployed troops stationed all around the world.

The parade includes Shriners, antique cars, flying MoonPies, “secret service” RC’s and more.

Guests can try hulahooping while eating a MoonPie and drinking an RC Cola, see how far they can throw a MoonPie or balance an RC on their heads while walking and eating a MoonPie. Winners receive a blue ribbon and are selected as a Bell Buckle Knight of the Round earning the honor of cutting and serving the World’s Largest MoonPie.

With more than 75 arts and crafts booths, all day stage entertainment including foot stomping, toe tapping, can’t stand still music, games, the RC & MoonPie Festival has earned multiple nods from Southern Living magazine, Food Network magazine, USA Today and more.
