GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – Sports Destination Management, the leading publication with the largest circulation of sports event planners and tournament directors in the sports tourism market, has announced one of the the 2018 Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism is the 2018 National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division III World Series hosted by the Greeneville Tourism Department’s Sports Council.
The 2018 World Series hosted 280 players from across the U.S. in World Series baseball action May 24-June 1, 2018. The event resulted in a $2.1 Million economic impact to Greene County.

The Tourism Department’s Sports Council was formed in 1999 and is designed to recruit sporting events such as the World Series, the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships, the South Atlantic Conference Fall Sports Festival and the AAU Golf National Championships.
