JONESBOROUGH, TN – March 20, 2020 – The 12th annual Art in the Park organizers are looking for artists and vendors for the May 9 event held on the International Storytelling Center grounds.
Art in the Park is for authors, artists, crafters, performers, musicians, storytellers, and vocalists who wish to share their talents.
Spring in Northeast Tennessee brings thousands of tourists to this area to see mother nature coming to life as the first redbuds and crocus bloom. A favored tourist spot is Historic Downtown Jonesborough, Tennessee’s Oldest Town, which will be teaming with spring colors and decorations.
The goal of this show is to highlight the fine art produced in the region. The Town of Jonesborough is dedicated to bringing the community closer together, and show other communities the creative influence that the arts can bring to their quality of life. Patrons will have the opportunity to experience art of the highest standards.
Art and craft vendors will be eligible to win prizes including $500 for Best of Show; $300 for 2nd place; $100 for 3rd place; and free booth space for Best New Artist. Between two and four honorable mentions may also be presented.
Art in the Park includes the popular tasting area with mouthwatering chocolates, tempting sauces and savory samples, as well as the area’s own marketplace. For the first time this year, the event will have a Lemonade Bar, the perfect way to cool down during the early summer day. The food court will also return due to popular demand. One “Best of Tasting” certificate will be awarded.
“Best in Tasting” vendors may apply to sell their original creations at the event and provide samples. This year, a food court will be set up, where patrons may eat a meal al fresco and enjoy a long afternoon of art, fine foods, and music.
Artists must submit an application, jury fee, booth fee, and photographs of their work and booth set up to be considered. Once juried into Art in the Park, artists will not have to be juried in again.
