PELHAM, TN – Feb. 11, 2019 – From legends to rising stars, an all-star lineup is planned for the multi-Emmy Award-winning Season IX Bluegrass Underground PBS live television taping May 18-19 at The Caverns.
Two-day ticket packages will be available Feb. 14 that include lodging, VIP seating, coach transportation and more for a great spring getaway. Show tickets go on sale on Friday, Feb. 15.
In Bluegrass Underground’s longstanding tradition of presenting music’s next favorite artists such as past performers like the SteelDrivers and Chris Stapleton, this year two new performers will take the stage at The Caverns. Lauren Morrow, a soulful singer-songwriter best known for fronting the roots rock band Whiskey Gentry, performs May 18. Cutting-edge Americana artist Gregory Alan Isakov, a Colorado-based singer/songwriter/farmer who’s touring with his fourth project Evening Machines takes the stage May 19.
Iconic singer-songwriter, Steve Earle and The Dukes will rock May 18, playing songs that laid the bedrock for Americana music and the “new Nashville.” The Devil Makes Three - Pete Bernhard, Lucia Turino, and Cooper McBea - released their first album in 2002 and have won a huge fanbase one show and festival at a time with their signature driving mix of acoustic rock and bluesy downhome folk. Touring with their sixth full-length CD, Chains Are Broken, The Devil Makes Three make their first visit May 18 to The Caverns.
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the band that forever changed music with their 1972’s multi-platinum Will the Circle Be Unbroken, will perform its 50 years of classic folk-rock, bluegrass and chart-topping country on May 19. The band is bringing their newest lineup into the cave featuring Jeff Hanna, Bob Carpenter, Jimmie Fadden, Jim Photoglo, Ross Holmes and Jamie Hanna. Brothers Osborne - John and TJ - the reigning three-time CMA and two-time ACM Vocal Duo of the Year, make their Bluegrass Underground debut May 19 as well.
The PBS taping of Bluegrass Underground at The Caverns is a two-day musical pilgrimage set in one of the world’s most iconic venues, The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee, south of Nashville and a short drive from Chattanooga. Two-day ticket packages make for an easy and memorable get away. Ticket packages include lodging, VIP seating, coach transportation and more.
