Private on-demand scooter rentals are now available in Chattanooga, with three locations for pickup and drop-off. Adventure Sports Innovation (ASI) launched ChattaScooter, a new personal mobility program offering a safe and convenient way for most adults to rent an e-scooter. Perfect for visitors looking to explore the city, or for residents looking for a fun outing in the Scenic City, the ChattaScooter program provides an easy and eco-friendly way to get around. ChattaScooter allows an adult (16+ years) with a smartphone and a credit (or debit) card to easily rent a stand-up electric scooter.
The scooters can be picked up or dropped off at any of the ChattaScooter partner locations. As of now, these are: - Adventure Sports Innovation: 191 River Street (across from Coolidge Park carousel) - One Riverside Apartments: off the Riverwalk, at 950 Riverside Parkway - The Local Juicery and Kitchen: on the Southside at 48 E Main Street (corner of Mitchell Ave. & E.Main St) All locations have helmets available for riders, sanitized equipment, and can help first-time renters to get started. ChattaScooters can only be rented/dropped off at designated locations inside of a business, to ensure that scooters are not abandoned on city streets or sidewalks.
“ChattaScooter aims to fill a transportation need in the Chattanooga metro area” says Patrick Molloy, Adventure Sports Innovation’s CEO. “We offer easy access to cool transportation devices, and the program addresses the safety concerns and haphazard parking that often occur with “dockless” scooters programs”.
Luis Contreras, Team Leader at the Local Juicery and Kitchen, who recently signed up to become part of the program, says “We definitely see the growing demand for more choices in transportation around the city, and are excited to offer this convenience for both residents and visitors to our city”.
Pricing is just $24 per hour, or $0.40 per minute, charged by the minute, via the phone app from Levy, Inc. Daily and longer terms rentals are available through Adventure Sports Innovation. ChattaScooter launched this summer with a limited initial fleet of vehicles, but the company has plans for more scooters and more locations that will be added as demand ramps up in the spring.
