UNION CITY, TN – March 18, 2019 – Discovery Park of America will present the 2019 Rhythm on the Rails Summer Music Festival on Thursday evenings May 2-June 27 around the park’s train depot and south lake.
The event will feature local performers and bands along with bands from the University of Tennessee at Martin’s Department of Music.
Musicians performing include Mandy Vixen and Gas Station Chicken; Romeo and the Juliets; Keith and Steve; Kicking Keys; J.C. Clark and Linda and Jamie Jones and Jace Hargrove; Jason Kizer; Katie Thorpe Tohn; Jim Bondurant; Chad Karnes; and Phillip Coleman.
Bands from the University of Tennessee at Martin will perform throughout the festival including the UTM Jazz Combo, the UTM Brazilian Choro Ensemble, Steelworks and Coffey and Carithers.
A limited number of picnic tables will be provided, and attendees are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Guests will be able to enjoy catch and release fishing from the lake, a stroll through the park, food trucks, a cash bar and more.
Admission is free for Discovery Park of America members or those who purchase admission to the park that day and $5 for non-members. Ticket purchases will help refurbish Discovery Park of America’s 1916 Ford Model-T that will go on display Fall 2019.
