MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Botanic Garden has announced the upcoming opening of its annual Holiday time attraction Holiday Wonders at the Garden opening Nov. 23-Dec. 30 featuring four distinct areas, each with a different theme but all catering to families, couples and groups.
Holiday Wonders at the Garden begins 5:30 p.m. Nov. 23 with several special guests including Santa. Opening ceremonies begin 6:15 p.m. Guests will then make the short walk over to the other three venues which will be open to the public.
Snowy Nights is the outdoor, interactive, family oriented venue. It is a continuation of the popular Snowy Nights in My Big Backyard, the most popular attraction at Memphis Botanic Garden.
Trees Alight is becoming a community favorite and features a spectacular 3600 nightly LED light show; This year it moves to the Iris Garden and for the first time incorporates the old growth Oak, Sassafras and Elm trees towering above the Live Lawn.
City of Memphis Christmas Tree is their gift to the City of Memphis. A 50’ tall Contorted White Pine located within the Conifer Garden is decked out with holiday lights for all to enjoy. Special Note: The City of Memphis Christmas Tree will be visible without charge, nightly (including nights when the Garden is closed) to traffic driving on Cherry Road between Park & Southern.
TruGreen “Under the Stars” Outdoor Lounge is an expanded attraction from last year and this year will feature nightlight concessions for all members of the family as well as outdoor seating with fire-tables within listening distance of the Holiday music.
Winter Wonderland Engagements at the Garden are back with multiple marriage proposal options to help you “pop the question.” For more information, call 901-636-4125.
Advance purchase tickets go on sale now ($8 for Garden Members and $10 for non-members); Advance ticket sales are both discounted and strongly encouraged. This year Memphis Botanic Garden is offering reserved ticket times with timed entry to cut down on waiting and lines.
