JONESBOROUGH, TN – June 13, 2019 – Tennessee’s oldest town will celebrate the 49th Annual Jonesborough Days Festival July 4-6 in downtown Jonesborough. The event is free and open to the public.
Family activities, music, handmade local crafts, patriotic parade, fireworks, storytelling and much more are scheduled for the holiday weekend.
The 2019 Jonesborough Days Festival will begin 10 a.m. July 4 with the parade kicking off festivities. Activities, music, contests and more will continue 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the weekend each day. The Low Country Shrimp Boil will take place 5:30 p.m. July 5 and the event wraps up with the annual fireworks display 10 p.m. July 6.
Various entertainment and activities will take place throughout the historic district on all three days. Doc’s Front Porch will feature a variety of storytellers and musicians on the Plaza at the International Storytelling Center during the day. The Main Stage will feature entertainment each evening including headliners The WannaBeetles, Beach Nite Band and The Breakfast Club. Over 70 local artists and craftsmen will be showcasing a variety of handmade wares. There will be a variety of great festival foods including everything from cheese steaks to funnel cakes.
Little ones can hop on the popular Children’s Train and go for a ride through town or check out Discovery Park, located behind the International Storytelling Center. Discovery Park will offer many activities for children and their families and you will find lots of hands-on ways to experience activities only found in Jonesborough. Visit Discovery Park for McKinney Center Art activities, Oak Hill School sessions with a schoolmarm, heritage games and a petting zoo with Apple Valley Pony Parties.
