MEMPHIS, TN – Oct. 11, 2019 – The Guest House at Graceland™ welcomes new Executive Chef Michael LaBar to the AAA Four Diamond hotel.
LaBar will oversee all dining venues at the hotel, including the premiere restaurant Delta’s Kitchen, E.P.’s Bar and Grill, Shake Rattle and Go coffee bar, Lobby Bar, catering and banquets for small meetings to events for more than1,300 guests and room service for the 450-room property.
Prior to joining The Guest House, LaBar served as executive chef at several hotel properties, including Hyatt Regency in Denver and Hilton Memphis. He also served in the same position for Compass Group LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. LaBar also worked for five years as brands manager and divisional chef for US Foods, a leading food distributor, and as executive sous chef at Harrah’s Entertainment in Tunica, Mississippi.
LaBar has created a new fall/winter menu for Delta’s Kitchen, bringing a “more stylized Southern comfort flair” to the dining experience. He will also introduce a new catering menu in the spring.
Trained at Culinary Institute of America and Century Culinary Arts, LaBar also credits his grandmother for igniting an interest in cooking and his mother for recommending he pick a profession that will always be in demand. LaBar is married and has two sons, one of which is currently serving in the Navy.
