MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The 2018 TSSAA SPRING FLING, produced by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association in cooperation with Rutherford County Convention and Visitors Bureau, is a winner of the Sports Destination Management Champions of Economic Impact.
An impressive economic impact of $3.5 million was estimated for 2018. TSSAA holds the championship events in five sports (baseball, softball, girls’ soccer, track & field and tennis) during the same week in late May each year.
Events are held at venues across Rutherford County, including the outstanding facilities at Middle Tennessee State University. This Olympic-style event takes over 1,000 volunteers each year and approximately 30,000 spectators attend the event throughout the week. Visitors, event staff and athletes contribute to the 3,000 room nights.

The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association administers the junior and senior high school athletic program for an estimated 110,000 participants, 426 schools, an estimated 6,000 coaches, 5,000 officials, and almost 5,500 teams.
