April 20, 2021 - Granvile, Tenn. - The 8th Annual Granville Cornbread & Moonshine Festival will occur on May 1, 2021 at Tennessee’s Mayberry Town of Granville. This years event is greatly expanded beginning with a Cornbread Cook-off in the Pioneer Village.
Cornbread contest entries will be accepted from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Pioneer Village with the following categories: traditional cornbread, non-traditional cornbread, Aunt Bee’s Hoe Cakes and Cornmeal/Tn Spirits Dessert. Awards of $25.00 first place, $15.00 second place and $10.00 third place in each category. Each participant receives a Cornbread & Moonshine Festival T-Shirt and bag of Eller Grist Mill Cornmeal.
The event will feature the grist mill operating and serving free hot water cornbread. Cornbread Lane will feature a southern lunch and opportunity to taste the cornbread entries.
The 8th Annual Moonshine Festival will be operated by the Tennessee Whiskey Trail Guild in Granville’s Pioneer Village from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on May 1st featuring nine Tennessee Distillers from all over Tennessee. Each distiller will have a booth set up where you can sample their products and will have product for sale. You must be age 21 to enter Moonshine Festival and a separate charge of $5.00 for the tasting.
The event will also feature The Def Leprechaun Band at Pruett Stage at 12 :00 and 2:00 p.m. Craftsmen will be operating in the Pioneer Village as well as all of the museums, shops, etc. of Granville will be open. The day will also include the Grand Opening of the Granville Whiskey Decanter Museum featuring one of the largest collections of Jim Beam Decanters in the United States.
Admission to the entire festival is $5.00, parking $5.00 per car which includes being able to do
