June 20, 2021 - SHILOH, Tenn. - Shiloh National Military Park is pleased to announce the “Infantry: Backbone of the Army” bicycle tour on Saturday, June 26. Join Ranger Paul Holloway for a bicycle tour around the Shiloh Battlefield.
Stops during the ride will discuss action by infantry units in that area during the fight and the importance those actions played in the overall battle. Also, learn about the self-sacrifice and bravery of several individual infantry units.
The 2-hour bike ride will meet in the visitor center parking lot at 10:00 am. The ride will be be about five miles in length and terrain will be moderate with a few small hills.
Participants will need to bring their own bicycle as rentals are not available. Participants are also encouraged to bring water and sunscreen. Anyone 16 and under must wear a helmet. Children must be able to ride confidently, without training wheels. You may register in advance by contacting the visitor center at 731-689-5696.
