Sept. 21, 2021 - TOWNSEND, Tenn. - Mark your calendars for Friday, October 22, 2021, because the Heritage Center will have a special guest that you simply will not want to miss as East Tennessee native and member-elect of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Dean Dillon, will perform live and in-person on the Heritage Center stage.
Dean has written some of the most iconic songs in country music history, such as "Tennessee Whiskey," which was a hit for David Allan Coe, George Jones, and most recently, Chris Stapleton. His song "Unwound" helped launch the career of George Strait, and tunes such as "The Chair" and "Oceanfront Property" have helped to make Strait the most successful artist in country music history with 44 number-one hits on the Billboard charts.
This special event allows guests to go behind the music with Dean Dillon. In his “One Man Show,” Dean will sing and perform his greatest hits and other songs while telling the story of how and why they happened to become hits for the Legends! "There’s a lot of my heart and soul in my songs. One on one with the audience gives me a chance to share that,” says Dean.
To hear what George Strait, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, and others have to say about Dean, just click on one of the photos in this release!
Dean is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2020, although the induction ceremony was postponed due to COVID. His induction should now take place in November of this year. The 2020 Class of Inductees includes Dean, Marty Stuart, and Hank Williams, Jr.
As most of us know, this year marks the 15th anniversary of the Heritage Center. As a "thank you" to our members for their amazing support, the Center will be offering member tickets at just $15 each, while non-member tickets will be $25 each. Ticket purchases may be handled over the phone or online by clicking on this link: TICKETS. All tickets are general admission, and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Food, soft drinks, and beer will be available for purchase at the Concessions Area before and during the show.
