JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – Tennessee Craft artists have had local crafts during the International Storytelling Festival for more than 20 years. This year, the Northeast Chapter will be represented by the fine crafts made right here in Tennessee 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Jonesborough Visitors Center.
Seven artists are displaying their talents:
Doug Lowman who refurbishes old chairs and then canes them using a variety of traditional patterns, Lowman is willing to work with chairs provided him by customers.
A few wood turners will be onsite. Reneau Dubberley makes winsome wooden mushrooms along with bowls and urns. Russell Wagner turns small wooden pieces including pepper mills and birdhouse Christmas ornaments. Richard Dwyer makes salad bowls and other decorative bowls and urns from local and exotic woods, some of which of which he has recycled from landfills.
Nancy Wagner, a fiber artist, who makes quilts, jackets and totes.
Jewelry artists will include Kathryn Jenkins, a jewelry maker, handcrafts her art work from copper, silver, felt and brass. Sandra Moore makes her jewelry using dichroic glass as the base for her pieces.
