Lunch Service Lands Jan. 22 at The Mockingbird

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Mockingbird will debut its lunch menu available 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 22 featuring small and large plates, sandwiches and salads along with an extended happy hour of 2:30-6 p.m.

Known for inventive global takes on classic comfort food dishes, The Mockingbird’s lunch menu will feature a few familiar items from the brunch and dinner menus, as well as some creative new additions from executive chef and partner Brian Riggenbach.

Some of the new globally-inspired dishes include a variety of sandwiches served with fries or a salad for $12, such as Sloppy Jose, a Mexican take on a traditional Sloppy Joe, made with beef barbacoa and orange and guajillo slaw on a Provence butter bun; Meatless, Rye Not?, a vegan Rueben with swiss, rye, sauerkraut and fancy sauce and Le Saigon, chicken liver mousse schmeared bahn mi with house cured bacon, pickled jalapeno and carrot and blackberry gastrique. From the “healthy-ish” section of the menu, Soy-Mates features mixed lettuce, bulgogi marinated skirt steak, chili vin and sesame crisps for $16. Meat & Tray is a large plate offering that includes a chef’s choice of appetizer, half a sandwich, soup, salad and a cookie for dessert for $15.

Happy hour specials include $6 bites, $5 wine and beer of the day, as well as $6 margaritas and a “cocktail of the moment.”
