NASHVILLE, Tenn. – guests will journey to the scene of the crime to explore exciting science inspired by Sherlock Holmes and James Bond at the next adults-only Way Late Play Day Feb. 8 at Adventure Science Center.
Thanks to BountyBev, the event’s Presenting Beverage Sponsor, Adventure Science Center is able to offer the widest variety of beverages in Way Late Play Date history. Drink options include East Nashville Beer Works, Good People Brewing Company, Jack’s Hard Cider, Jackalope Brewing Company, and The Double Cola Company.
Tickets cost $35 for not-yet-members, $25 for ASC members, and include admission to all exhibits and activities, three beverage tickets (beer, hard cider, and soft drinks), a planetarium show and a souvenir cup. Adventure Science Center has all four 2018 Way Late Play Date events available for purchase now at www.AdventureSci.org/WayLate. This year's lineup includes 90s Sci-Fi, Star Wars vs. Star Trek, and Harry Potter.
ACTIVITIES (included with admission):
• The Game is Afoot
Guests are invited to channel their inner Sherlock with this murder-mystery activity by using their keen eye as they gather clues to solve the Way Late Play Date murder.
• Q’s Tech Lab
Explore the tech behind Bond’s brilliance in Q’s research and development lab. Guests can design a special gadget with found materials to help them thwart the villain in this engineering activity.
• Covert Operations
In this special challenge, guests step into the laser maze to see if they can crack the code without setting off the alarm.
• Holy Foley!
Guests will learn the secrets behind some of cinema’s most famous sound effects in this interactive activity.
• Jeopardy – Planetarium Show
Under the 63-foot Sudekum Planetarium dome, guests can put their brains to work as they test their knowledge of the Sherlock Holmes and James Bond franchises. This larger-than-life experience features everything you love about Jeopardy in a unique, immersive setting.
Adventure Science Center members and Way Late Play Date Passport holders will enjoy a new, exclusive perk – a VIP Lounge. By showing their photo ID and their member or passport card, they can enjoy a complimentary martini and get creative with a collaborative, larger-than-life adult coloring page.
All guests will also be able to experience ASC’s newest virtual reality installation, Hydro Hero, step into simulated weightlessness on the EVA Experience, play trivia and enter a Costume Contest to win prizes with Hypericon, and more fun with Community Partners, all included with admission. Guests may also create their own souvenir T-shirts with Hip Hues for an extra charge.
Hibachi 4 Hire and Steaming Goat Food Trucks will be onsite with food available for purchase.
