CLINTON, Tenn. – The annual Sheep Shearing Days takes place April 13, 20-21 at the Museum of Appalachia, a living mountain village. Individual tickets are on sale now.
Each year, professional shearers trip the wooly animals while explaining the shearing process, demonstrating with hand-cranked and hand-held shears. Students can also participate in the process.
The day is full of hands-on activities that also include carding wool, spinning it into thread, weaving and other ways pioneers prepared wool for their multiple uses. Sheep herding, music, an animal meet-and-greet and more are scheduled.
For groups of 20 or more, call 865-494-7680 for pricing and reservation information.
