Witness Walls Dedication Ceremony at Nashville’s Public Square Park at the Historic Metro Courthouse

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Arts unveils the long-awaited Witness Walls public artwork by artist Walter Hood 2 p.m. Friday, April 21 at Public Square Park at the Historic Metro Courthouse on the corner of 3rd Avenue North and James Robertson Parkway. The event is free and open to the public.

Witness Walls is inspired by the events and people who made history here in Nashville and created the blueprint for nonviolent protest during the modern Civil Rights Movement. Join Metro Arts, Mayor Megan Barry, Walter Hood, and community leaders for the public dedication event as we honor those who fought for racial equality and continue the important conversation about social justice in our community.

No event registration is necessary, but attendees should plan to arrive early a large crowd is expected.

Drivers may drop off passengers at the ceremony site along 3rd Avenue North between Deaderick Street and James Roberston Parkway.

Parking is available at the Metro Courthouse/Public Square Parking Garage, accessible by James Robertson Parkway or Gay Street.
