NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Dance Congress will welcome more than 34 world champion dancers from nine different genres May 5-7 to the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel.
Former Saturday Night Live cast member Victoria Jackson will host the Friday night world champion show.
Attendees can celebrate Cinco De Mayo weekend in style and enjoy world-renowned dancing, live music, daytime classes, an exclusive auction and social dancing.
Award-winning dancers scheduled to appear include 2016 UCWDC World Cabaret Exhibition Champions Clyde Harris and Summer Elkin, who performed live yesterday on WSMV's Today in Nashville segment. Also set to perform are U.S. Open Opus Showcase champions Benji Schwimmer and Nicole Clonch, NBC’s World of Dance contestants Luka Wolf and Jenalyn Pacheco and many more.
Featured dance genres include salsa, bachata, ballroom cabaret, west coast swing, kizomba, tango, zouk, lindy hop and balboa. Various special musical offerings will take place throughout the hotel over the course of the weekend and all classes are complimentary to attendees, as space permits. Friday and Saturday show tickets are sold separately.
Spotlighted on the three-day agenda is Friday night’s Cinco de Mayo World Champion Dinner Show, which will be hosted by former Saturday Night Live cast member Victoria Jackson. With purchase of tickets to this event, guests will enjoy a formal three-course dinner prepared by world-class chef Kevin Randolph as well as access to the Global Fundraiser Auction and performances by the world’s dance elite.
Live and silent auction items will include VIP dance experiences, cosmetic services and lunches with international champion performers. Proceeds will benefit Nashville’s Global Education Center, which seeks to embrace the oneness of all people through multicultural arts programming.
