GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The National Park Service will host the annual Wreaths across America program 11:30 a.m. Dec. 16 at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.
The featured speaker this year is Lt. Col. Neal Kerney, Tennessee National Guard, with remarks also given by Acting Superintendent Eric Leonard.
The wreaths will be placed on the more than 1,900 graves by JROTC cadets from both city and county schools on the Thursday morning preceding the event.
“The Wreaths Across America Program is an iconic annual event for national cemeteries and it reflects the best side of any community,” said Acting Superintendent Eric Leonard. “On behalf of the National Park Service we are grateful for the annual support from students, leaders, veterans and community members.”
General parking will be at Hal Henard Elementary School with shuttle service provided by Premier Transportation of Greeneville to the cemetery beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing after the ceremony. Handicapped parking will be available at the National Cemetery with overflow parking onto Monument Avenue.
The Andrew Johnson National Cemetery is located at 121 Monument Avenue, Greeneville, TN.
