Bass Pro Shops Helps National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Raise Funds in April with Round Up Campaign

STATEWIDE, Tenn. – Bass Pro Shops is providing customers a chance to support the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation throughout April.

Thanks to a round up campaign at all Bass Pro Shops locations across the U.S., customers are invited to donate their change to help NFWF’s mission of sustaining, restoring and enhancing the nation’s fish, wildlife, plants and habitats for current and future generations in all 50 states and U.S. territories.

Since its founding in 1984, NFWF has become the nation’s largest conservation grant-maker. NFWF’s projects – more than 16,000 – are rigorously evaluated and awarded to some of the nation’s largest environmental organizations, as well as some of the smallest. Financial commitments to its conservation mission now top $3.8 billion. In addition to NFWF receiving 100 percent of the money customers donate at the cash register, Bass Pro Shops will make a contribution at the end of the month, matching 50 percent of the donated total.

Bass Pro Shops has partnered with NFWF on several restoration efforts over the years, including the Bring Back the Natives/More Fish program, which coordinates investments that restore, protect and enhance native populations of sensitive or listed fish species across the United States, especially in areas on or adjacent to federal agency lands. Thanks in part to the partnership of Bass Pro Shops, the program has leveraged $51 million in matching contributions since its launch in 1991.

Johnny Morris has made giving back to conservation a hallmark of Bass Pro Shops since he first began selling fishing tackle in the back of his dad’s liquor store in 1972. Over the course of several decades, Morris has dedicated himself to inspiring everyone, especially youth and families, to enjoy, love and conserve the great outdoors. One way that Bass Pro Shops works on behalf of conservation is by supporting the efforts of nonprofit conservation organizations that share a desire to tackle key conservation initiatives such as fish and wildlife habitat improvements, conservation and outdoor skills education, improving the quality of our lakes, rivers and springs, and conservation advocacy.
