Bliss and Tori Mason Shoes Announce Move to Gay Street Is Complete

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Scott Schimmel and Lisa Sorensen of both Bliss and Tori Mason Shoes have announced the move from Market Square to Gay Street is now complete. Bliss & Tori Mason Shoes has reopened to the public at 445 S. Gay Street.

Bliss opened at its first location in 2003, making it one of the oldest retail businesses on Market Square. Tori Mason Shoes opened a year ago due to an expanding shoe department within Bliss. Scott Schimmel and Lisa Sorensen's Bliss Home brand currently has locations in west Knoxville, Nashville and a location in Louisville, Kentucky that opened in August 2017.

The new location is in the Miller's Building at 445 S. Gay Street and combines both Bliss and Tori Mason Shoes.  The move increases the total square footage of retail to 6,500 square feet from the previous 4,600 square feet.  

ABOUT BLISS:

The couple opened the first of the Bliss stores in 2003 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Since then, the company has grown into a downtown Knoxville mainstay. In 2017, Bliss & Tori Mason Shoes relocated into one Downtown Knoxville location, where they offer an alternative to the standard retail experience with clothing, shoes and gifts. Bliss Home opened in west Knoxville in 2008. The entrepreneurs expanded in 2014 by opening Bliss Home near downtown Nashville. The third Bliss Home, and first out-of-state location, opened in Louisville, KY in August 2017.

Schimmel and Sorensen won the Rising Star award from the Tennessee Small Business Center in November 2013. Since its inception, Bliss and Bliss Home have been repeatedly recognized as Best Store, Best Furniture, Best Gift Store and Best Women's Clothing Store by the Metro Pulse Reader's Poll.

Bliss Home was also voted a Knoxville favorite in the 2017 Knoxville News Sentinel Best of East Tennessee poll, 2017 City View Magazine Best of the Best, and 2016, 2017 Nashville Scene Best of Nashville awards. Bliss and Bliss Home have been featured in Southern Living Magazine, Nashville Scene, Nashville Lifestyles, Louisville Magazine, TOPS Louisville, Design Sponge, DIY, and HGTV cable networks.
