MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. – Bluegrass Underground announces the second half of 2017's concerts, taking place in the Volcano Room of Cumberland Caverns.
First-generation bluegrass master and IBMA Hall of Famer Jesse McReynolds who is known for his cross-picking style and reinventing the mandolin performs July 15, with the bluegrass/swing/classic country duo, The Farmer & Adele opening the show at 1 p.m. Tickets are on sale.
The Tennessee Mafia Jug Band featuring Leroy Troy return to Bluegrass Underground Aug. 12. Fiddler Johnny Campbell and his Bluegrass Drifters open the 1 p.m. show with classic Nashville bluegrass.Tickets are on sale.
Legendary Celtic singer Maura O'Connell & her band fill the Volcano Room with the sounds of Ireland Aug. 26. Northern Ireland's Emma Reid & the Celtic Sojourners open the 1 p.m. show. Tickets are on sale.
GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale, who has recorded with Ralph Stanley, co-written with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, done albums of R&B and blues, penned a string of hits for George Strait and somehow finds the time to host Music City Roots, performs Sept. 9 with his bluegrass band. Miss Tess & The Talkbacks open the 1 p.m. show. Tickets are on sale.
The Roots & Boots Tour comes Sept. 30 to the Volcano Room, featuring three top country stars of the '80s and '90s - James Otto, Aaron Tippin and Sammy Kershaw .
The dynamic duo of guitar master Rob Ickes and singer-guitarist Trey Hensley take the stage Oct. 14. Chessboxer opens at 1 p.m.
Ronnie Reno will perform with his Reno tradition as Teea Goans opens the 1 p.m. show Nov. 4.
A double bill will feature two of the all-time best Americana singer-songwriters: Darrell Scott with Robbie Fulks Nov. 18
It's one of the best Christmas shows as Suzy Bogguss, Chet Atkins’ favorite female singer in the final years of his life, brings her perfect pitch, infectious warmth, effortless sense of humor and total lack of artifice for the Dec. 2 show.
