HUNTINGDON, Tenn. – Celebrate the holidays with “A Christmas on Broadway” 2 p.m. Dec. 16 at The Dixie Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center.
This year’s holiday event will feature special guest Kellye Cash with The Dixie Children’s Choir. A talented performer, she has toured with Bob Hope’s USO Show and performed with Vince Gill, Lee Greenwood, and Billy Joel. Cash also played Patsy Cline in “Always… Patsy Cline,” a successful off-Broadway musical.
The Dixie Children’s Choir is an auditioned group of talented young singers led by Andrea Cottrill, the choir showcases the vocal abilities of local 2nd-6th graders. The Dixie Children’s Choir is one of the many exciting cultural opportunities The Dixie Performing Arts & Academic Enrichment Center is able to bring to Huntingdon and the surrounding areas with the help of The Tennessee Arts Commission. The Dixie Youth Choir has performed in the past on The Hal Holbrook stage with Riders In The Sky, Molly Ringwald, The David Johnson Chorus, Melinda Doolittle and others.
Also, reigning Miss Tennessee Caty Davis will make a special appearance.
Davis competed in Miss American in Atlantic City, New Jersey and placed in the top 12. She serves as Governor Haslam’s Official Spokesperson for Character Education and travels more than 80,000 miles speaking to 50,000 school children about Character Education. She also serves as Tennessee’s Goodwill Ambassador for the five Children’s Miracle Network hospitals across the state.
