LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Tenn. – Take a stroll through nature at the ninth annual EarthDayz event 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 21-23 at Rock City.
Guests can experience amazing Birds of Prey Shows, how-to recycling projects and educational demonstrations.
Hosts John and Dale Stokes with Wings to Soar return for Rock City Raptors shows as they interactively present their majestic rescue birds at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in Critter Classroom. Guests can also create a pot from recycled newspapers and plant a seed to take home and watch grow. Rain barrel demonstrations are also available. Kids receive an adventure passport booklet filled with activity pages and coupons.
The RockQuest Adventure is available for a $5 ticket upgrade and includes a free climb on the 25-foot Climbing Wall, a bag of polished rocks and a guide with a photo scavenger hunt to look for clues to many geological wonders throughout the park.
Café 7 is now open for the season! Enjoy a breathtaking view during lunch while savoring some delicious food such as fried green tomatoes paired with homemade pimento cheese, barbecue or shrimp and cheese grits. The outdoor restaurant is also featuring “Love the Earth Lemonade” with fresh fruit-filled ice cubes. Café 7 is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays, then daily beginning Memorial Day weekend. Big Rock Grill, open year-round, is also offering chocolate dirt cake with gummi worms in honor of this event.
EarthDayz revolves around Rock City’s commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle, its stewardship of nature and its commitment to education and the environment. Rock City is partnering once again with Orange Grove as they provide park-wide recycling pickup for the attraction.
