Latest Locally-Made Wine Now Available In Bottles and On-Tap From the Downtown Winery
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – City Winery announces the release of Rockabilly Red, a new Nashville-inspired red blend made entirely at the city’s only urban winery.
Made from Petite Sirah grapes from Chalk Hill, California, and Syrah grapes from Mendocino, California, the wine has spent the last 14 months in French Oak barrels in the winery.
City Winery celebrates the release of Rockabilly Red with a Wine Release Party 3-6 p.m. Sunday, April 23. Attendees can enjoy lite bites while sipping and learning about Rockabilly Red, along with two other featured wines while listening to live music by The High Jivers.
Tickets are $25.
Tasting notes for City Winery’s latest varietal:
2015 “Rockabilly Red” Blend
Bold and jammy, this red blend greets your palate with a cherry-driven aroma and the flavor of blackberry preserves and plums. A firm tannin structure gives a lingering finish with every sip. This blend of 80 percent Petite Sirah and 20 percent Syrah is a perfect companion to grilled meats and fried foods.
Rockabilly Red is now available on tap at City Winery to enjoy in the restaurant, the taproom and in the venue or to take to-go in a growler. The new wine is also available in bottles for purchase at the City Winery Retail Wine Bar seven days a week.
City Winery, located at 609 Lafayette Street, is open for dinner Sunday through Thursday, 5 – 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 5 – 11 p.m., with the bar staying open one hour after the kitchen closes. Weekend brunch is available 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
