MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Guests can learn some of the surprising ways science and music connect in the new Science of Music exhibit, opening tomorrow, Jan. 20 at the Discovery Center of Murfree Spring.
Feel the rhythm through the drums, find the pitch with the pipe organ, and take the stage in this interactive exploration of sound.
This year visitors can expect to see returning favorites like the drum pad room, guitar kiosk, performance stage and a "Chladni Plate" that helps illustrate the effects of vibrations on mechanical surfaces.

• Build Your Own Harmonica - All day
• Musical Storytime at 11 a.m.
• String Quartet at 1 p.m.
• Sound Experiments (demonstrations on how sound travels and how soundproofing works) at 3 p.m.
The Science of Music exhibit is included with general admission and free for members.
