Discovery Center’s ‘Shakesbeer’ Event Returns on Cinco de Mayo

Special 30th anniversary ‘Steam’ beer to be featured

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Tickets are now on sale for the Discovery Center’s 5th annual Shakesbeer event happening 7 p.m. Friday, May 5 in the Murfree Spring natural area at the Discovery Center. The museum celebrates with Mexican-style beer.

Tickets purchased in advance are $5 off and available at www.explorethedc.org/shakesbeer. Attendees must be 21 or older.

The event features theatrical performances by Murfreesboro Little Theatre and M-PROV, along with a variety of craft brews to sample.

Participating brewers include: Boro Beards Brewing, The Bow and Fiddle, BriarScratch Brewing, Cedar Glade Brews, Electric Avenue Brewing, Founders Brewing, The Green Dragon Public House, Jackalope Brewing, Mayday Brewery, Mid-State Brew Crew, Mid-State Brewsters, Mill Creek Brewing, MomEric Brewing, Mos Alesley Brewing, Murfreesboro Wine and Spirits, Overall Brewing and Blending, Panther Creek Brews, Short Mountain Distillery, Smackdab Brewing, Spread Eagle Handcrafted Ales and TheoreticAles.

Food is available for purchase from Fly Boys Nashville, Laovin It, Wingaholics and Roadhouse Grille food trucks.

Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door and include a commemorative tasting glass. Designated driver tickets are $15.

Proceeds for the event benefit the Discovery Center.
