HARROGATE, Tenn. (June 1, 2022) - The first annual Tri-State Outdoors Fest hosted by the Guardians of the Gap will take place Saturday, July 16, rain or shine. More than 30 vendors will line Colwyn Ave from 10am-7pm.
Tri-State Outdoors Fest is to educate and promote to the public about the boundless opportunities in outdoor recreation available in and around Cumberland Gap such as hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, hunting, fishing, boating and much more. Some participants include representatives from regional state parks, national hiking trails, and environmental stewardship groups. Along with them will be a wide selection of regional outdoor vendors.
The children’s area will include activities such as an obstacle course, archery, air rifles, and demonstrations on cooking over a fire. Seminars and guided hikes led by multiple world-renowned experts will go throughout the day on topics ranging from basic backpacking skills, geocaching, and medicinal plant identification. Live music will be played from 12:30-7pm as well.
Attendees will have a chance to try craft beer from Clinch River Brewing Company of Norris, TN, learn about and try on shoes from HOKA Shoes, enter drawings for prizes throughout the day, and participate in meet and greet sessions with professional bass fisherman Brad Burkhart.
The event will be followed up on Sunday, July 17, with a Sunday morning service led by Outdoor Truth’s Gary Miller as well as a large community clean up effort led by expert Benny Braden and his nonprofit organization known as Responsible Stewardship.
