Former Memphis Grizzlies Star and Staxtacular Co-Founder Shane Battier Returns to Memphis as Special Guest at Staxtacular 2018

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Former Memphis Grizzlies star and Staxtacular co-founder Shane Battier and his wife Heidi gear up to Grit, Grind & Groove as special guests of Staxtacular 2018 for the Stax Music Academy 7 p.m. to midnight Jan. 27 at the Stax Museum of American Soul Music.

The event will be co-hosted by Memphis Grizzlies star Mario Chalmers and Paije Speights.

All proceeds from Staxtacular 2018 will benefit the Stax Music Academy, which inspires young people and enhances their academic, cognitive, performance, and leadership skills by utilizing music with an intense focus on the rich legacy and tradition of Stax Records. Approximately 80 percent of Stax Music Academy students attend via scholarships provided by the Soulsville Foundation through fundraising efforts such as Staxtacular.

Now in its 13th year, Staxtacular has raised more than $1 million for the Stax Music Academy. This year, guests will:
