MEMPHIS, TN – June 16, 2020 – Memphis Zoo has now reopened additional amenities and introduced changes to some of its protocol.
• Memphis Zoo will strongly recommend guests wear facial coverings during their entire zoo visit, but it will no longer be a requirement. Facial coverings will be required inside all zoo buildings.
• Facial coverings are required at the giraffe feeding deck. Masks are available for purchase.
• All Memphis Zoo team members will continue to wear facial coverings while on zoo grounds and have health screenings.
• Train is now running.
• Water play areas will open tomorrow, June 17.
• Memphis Zoo will resume modified keeper chats and shows starting June 20.
• China Carousel and Trams will resume operation on June 20.
• Camel rides will start again on June 20. Facial coverings are required.
The Memphis Zoo continue to follow current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines by asking employees and guests to stay home if they are sick, encouraging respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene, and routinely cleaning all surfaces and public areas. Guests are encouraged to continue to practice social distancing while at the gate or inside the zoo.
