COLUMBIA, Tenn. — Needle and Grain is opening its first retail shop with a grand opening celebration 10 a.m. Sept. 8 inside the newly remodeled Columbia Arts Building, 307 West 11th Street, Suite 6.
Needle and Grain is a modern arts and crafts store selling home goods, handmade craft supplies, quilting notions and a curated selection of high-end, designer quilting fabrics.
Owners Bryson and Susan Leach started Needle and Grain in 2014 as an online business focused on creating quilts, blankets, baby accessories and vintage-style felt banners. They realized their vision was to have a place within their own community where they could share their products and the products of other makers.
“It’s been a joy for Susan and me to be able to build out the store with the help of our friends and family, and in partnership with the Columbia Arts Building who believed in our mission from day one,” Bryson Leach said. “We’re so excited to open this space for our community and be able to connect one-on-one with other makers, locals and quilt-lovers alike.”
Needle and Grain is Columbia’s only quilt shop and the only small business fabric supplier in the area. Needle and Grain also aims to attract younger adults and those interested in a more contemporary design style with their selection of home goods and craft supplies. They will be hosting various workshops and sewing classes for kids, adults and homeschool co-ops.
