JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – Jonesborough’s Mary B. Martin Program for the Arts hosts the second show of the Artist Exhibition Series featuring Carolyn Tomko and Richie Hayward June 9-July 21 at the McKinney Center.
The exhibition’s Opening Reception 6 p.m. Friday, June 9 at the McKinney Center.
Carolyn Tomko creates pottery and handcrafted characters like animals, Santa’s, gnomes, snowmen, angels and nativities. From bird houses to holiday decorations, platters and plates embellished with birds and flowers are all in her repertoire.
Richie Hayward is a master in digital photography. He’s traveled to Katmai National Park photographing brown bears, to South Africa on photo safaris, and across the United States photographing wildlife, scenic and old rusting cars and trucks.
The McKinney Center houses the Jonesborough Mary B. Martin Program for the Arts and boasts of a mission to be, “committed to inspiring the people of our area through both the appreciation of and the participation in the arts as a form of personal and collective expression.” The objective of the program is to “bring the community at large closer together and show as an example to other communities the creative influence that the arts can bring to their quality of life.” The McKinney Center is a department within the Town of Jonesborough.
