TIPTONVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee State Parks has unveiled seven new visitor cabins at Reelfoot Lake State Park in Tiptonville.
The cabins feature many sustainable building aspects like energy efficient lighting and appliances and low-flow fixtures. The exterior concrete logs have a custom cypress look and provide passive heating and cooling year-round, reducing the load on the HVAC systems.
LED lights in the parking area provide safe illumination for visitors while also preserving night sky views and preventing light pollution. Sustainably-sourced materials used in the construction and design process include patio furniture made from recycled soda bottles as well as furniture purchased from local manufacturers that meet Tennessee Wood Products requirements.
The cabins offer first-class comfort and modern convenience with spacious living, dining and kitchen areas and a choice of two or three bedrooms. Cabins accommodate up to six or up to 10 people. Amenities include full size kitchens, dishwasher, central heat and air, an electric fireplace, outdoor charcoal grills, and patios. All cabins have lakeside views and are pet-friendly.
The cabins are rented year round with a two night minimum requirement, with the exception of holiday weekends which require a three night minimum.
Rates range from $229 to $249. Due to popularity, reservations should be made well in advance. Two ADA cabins are available and should be requested when reservations are made.
