ATHENS, Tenn. – Athens Area Council for the Arts presents “Sock Hop, The Arts Center’s Class Night” 7 p.m. Saturday, May 6 at The Arts Center.
Pam Thigpen directs this bandstand-like dance that takes audiences through the music of 1964-74, with guest appearances by local performers paying tribute to artists of the decade. During the performance, AACA presents “The Ellies,” awards celebrating volunteers.
The evening includes party food and cash bar. Era-appropriate dress is welcome but not required. The entertainment features live and recorded music with tribute performances by Pam Thigpen, Our Three Tenors (Rusty Patterson, Tim Frazier, and Mike Simmons), Josh Bragg, The Hardaway Sisters, Lindsey and Andrew Kimball, Liz Schreck, Jen Nunley, Ron Clayton, Joe Littleton, Kyle Littleton, Bob Roseberry, Shaffen Dotson, Melonie Carideo and more.
